Rats are like permanent
companions of human beings as they go with us wherever we go,whether
wanted or unwanted. We have no choice but, anyhow they will go along
us. All this is because human existence is a big boon for them
because we carry loads and loads of food along with us, wherever we
go. And this is gonna be the most favorite thing for rats - there
sole need for existence.

Indoor
Hideouts:
You are watching rats
running all around your house and fed up of their fecal matter lying
all around your home. Still you are helpless and find it very
difficult to identify their place of colonization, then consider
this; all places, which are undisturbed from human interference, from

Location Hideouts:
Many of the Rat species
like Black rats and Roof rats like to make their residence much above
the ground level. You may find them residing in the top floors of
tall building structures (Some black rats were even found in the top
floor of the
Empire State Building) or attics of the two-floor
houses.
Furniture Backyard :
They like to hang out
in packed and narrow spaces such as the back of closets, cabinets and
bath tubs.

Cluttered study tables
that have piles of cardboard boxes and used papers (good shelter
sites) can be the primary source of rodent/rats problems, especially
if you store snack food bundles in their desk drawers. Makeup table
drawers are also a favorite place for them.

rats will be quick to set up their own home in your household – in
the least populated areas like the attic and wall ceilings. If for
once they colonize the area, it would be very difficult to remove
their fraternity, unless you employ very powerful

Garages :
Garages are one of the
most cozy places for rats as they are not properly looked after and
seldom cleaned. The unparalleled and best suited entry point for
rodents into a garage is at the garage door end. The stripped seal
for rain protection generally does not extend to the end, leaving a
small gap, enough for rats to enter.
Basements:
The
biggest source of rats in a house is generally its basement. Loads of
unused and unwanted things are squeezed into the basement, left for
rats to ponder on them freely. To get rid of annoying rats in the
basement, you need to find the hole or hollow from where they came
in. Now cement and shut it down permanently.
Sidelines of Main
Gates or Outhouses: As we know rats are very good at underground
burrowing. Many rats make their burrows right next to main house
entrance and gates of outside guest houses. Some of them reside in
small openings below homes.
Wall cavities:
Rats can come through
cracked drainage/sewer pipes and will crawl up through the cavity in
the middle of the walls. Cavity walls are a good place for there
hideout.

Rats are very smart
animals. They are constantly exploring and learning about their
environment, and they adapt quickly to change. Tall grasses and
bushes in the background yard are very good hideout for them. Because
they are experts at hiding, you may not see rats in the garden, but

often filled with bird and pet facets, seeds, rotten vegetables and
edible stuff and cramped cans which all provide very good food
reserve for the rats.

habit of collecting used, outdated and discarded appliances plus
other dump machines. They just don't want to loose their favorite
stuff even if they are now completely defunct. All of them are
allowed lying in heap form in a secluded room. What they don't
realize is that it becomes a breeding place for the rodents. This
clutter also provides food for rats and mice if it includes empty
food containers or dirty food utensils. It is our request that please
